Disability calculator
VA combined rating and monthly pay.
VA does not add percentages the ordinary way. This tool applies VA math, the bilateral factor when you mark paired disabilities, and 2026 compensation rates. It is an estimate. VA decides the rating.
Start by selecting where you have disabilities
Select the part of the body, then choose 10% to 100%. Paired left and right extremities get the bilateral factor automatically.

Dependents
Compensation at 30% and above can increase with a spouse, parents, and children. 10% and 20% do not.
How VA math works
VA starts with the highest rating, then applies each next rating to the remaining “efficiency,” not to 100. Three ratings of 30%, 20%, and 20% combine to 55%, which rounds to 60% — not 70%.
After all ratings are combined, VA rounds to the nearest 10%, with 5 rounding up. Paired extremities or paired skeletal muscles get a bilateral factor: those ratings are combined first, 10% of that combined value is added, then the result is combined with everything else.
Use this only for a general idea of how ratings combine and what 2026 compensation tables pay at that combined rating. VeteranMOS does not obtain ratings.
